There will be light at the end of this.

Our world has hit its collective bottom. Bottoms are scary, they can feel like you’re drowning. Then comes the desperation for a way out, which often leads to searching for a new way of living. That new way of living proves challenging as sometimes you have to change things. Relationships, jobs, living situations, your self depreciation …often not all at once but sometimes yes, all at once. You can’t sleep well, your appetite is off and you cry all the time, in fact you sob. You look for a way out but can’t find one, you just have to feel how hard it is and ask for help. Hobbies start to peak your interest, new friendships and ways to sit with your new world become appealing. You start to laugh again, you had forgotten how much you used to laugh. Your heart still feels broken and you learn to breathe into yourself. You feel everything; trees, animals, stars, you feel them beating inside you. You weep at the outstanding beauty of nature. You find your center and life starts to feel safer. You’re more comfortable in the world and your focus starts to shift. You shift into your heart center and you grieve. You grieve all the losses you’ve suffered and stuffed down. The pain unfolds and feels unbearable at times. You breathe. You keep going. One day it hurts less and you think maybe its over. It’s not but you’re stronger and you start to surrender to letting go of controlling the outcome of life. Your world gets bigger and you start to forgive yourself and others. In return your respect for the earth and her inhabitants grows, you see clearly where the work needs to be done. You keep going and growing and paying it forward by helping all living things. You are the light at the end of the tunnel and we cannot do it alone. You are in recovery and the bottom saved your life.
